Jagannath

Jagannath (from Sanskrit: jagat = world/universe, nātha = lord/master) is a form of Vishnu or Krishna, particularly revered in the Indian states of Odisha and West Bengal, and also worshipped in Bangladesh. He is considered the Lord of the Universe.

Jagannath is worshipped as part of a triad with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra. The temple of Jagannath at Puri, Odisha is one of the four sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites) of Hinduism. Every year, the famous Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) sees millions of devotees pulling the chariots of the deity through the streets.
